Brentwood manufacture a range of Single Shaft Shredders suitable for industrial applications. These machines are ideally suited to shred bulky products which present difficulty feeding into two or quad shafted designs.
They are ideally suited to plastic and timber disposal, manufacturing or processing industries for the purpose of waste reduction or recycling. The unique design of the single shaft shredder range is to provide:
Brentwood Single Shaft shredders features include:
Cutting Chamber - 1250mm or 650mm long (depending on model) cutting chamber with 30mm square cutter tips bolted to the 400mm diameter rotor and positioned to cut through a fixed blade. The fixed blade and cutters are replaceable. The cutters can be rotated to provide 4 different cutting edges.
Pusher Platen to push feed material towards the rotor. The platen continuously cycles back and forth to provide a continuous feed of material to the rotor. The top pf the platen is a flat steel plate enabling new material to be loaded in while shredding continues.
The machine casing is sand-blasted and then painted in 2 coats of enamel paint.
Cover with access doors to protect operators from all drive-train moving parts. The access doors are inter-locked to provide safe access to the drive-train components, which include rotor motor, gearbox, drive belts and hydraulic power pack. The cover provides visual inspection of the drive belt while shredding and incorporates ventilation vents for motor cooling. The control system includes : A “No-load Bridge Break” function. If the current draw on the rotor motor drops below a preset level for approx 20 seconds, the pusher platen will stop and go in the reverse direction. When this happens material in the hopper is rearranged and when the pusher platen returns in the forward direction, shredding should recommence. A “Jam Over-time” function. If the pusher platen has not reached it’s end position in approximately 60 secs the rotor will stop and the pusher platen will return to the home (or rear) position. Under these conditions it is assumed a large piece of material has jammed and needs removing from the infeed hopper.
