Brentwood trommels include advanced features such as

  • dual drives
  • ramp start controls providing easy starting loaded & in the wet
  • solid rubber wheels for maximum drive friction in the wet
  • brushes for cleaning
  • operator protection
  • walkways for maintenance & operators
  • centre support wheels where required
  • screens easily removable

Belt Conveyors

Brentwood Engineering manufacture a range of troughed roller and plate supported belt conveyors which have been specially developed for use with waste materials. These can be incorporated into complete plants or supplied individually as required.

Brentwood conveyors are made to a high quality with the necessary equipment to meet the high demands of the waste and recycling industry.

All conveyors are manufactured with tail and return idler guards, return scraper, shaft mounted motor gearboxes, screw tensioners and lifting lugs.

Troughed roller conveyors include side guards and replaceable skirting the full length of the conveyor.

On request top and bottom covers can be included and where required lagged pulleys.

Refiners

The Brentwood Refiner is a high speed hammermill developed for secondary size reduction of preshredded material. Normally the refiner is only used to mill wood waste, tree and garden waste, or paper.

The refiner can be supplied as a separate piece of machinery able to operate on its own or as part of a Brentwood Shreddermill Waste Plant. Refiners, are placed after a pre-shredder, and are designed to refine the product produced by the shredder to the size required, whether it be for composting, potting mixes or just for finer mulch.

Because the product has already been through the shredder it has been reduced to small pieces and is already split and broken so the work necessary to reduce it to final sizing is less than direct milling of the unshredded material.

Consequently, the life of the flails in the refiner are extended many times and life factors up to 300 hours have been experienced prior to turning even once. Flails can be turned four times before necessary rebuilding by hardfacing.

If the refiner is fitted to a shreddermill plant, the operator has the option to divert material away from the refiner. This may be necessary when shredding materials not suitable for refining or not requiring further size reduction.

A deflection plate can be pivoted in or out to direct material into or away from the refiner. If material is directed away from the refiner, electrical interlocks operate to prevent the refiner from being started.

Compactors

Brentwood supply a range of mechanical compactors which are designed for breaking up of materials into a rough form and also for compacting preshredded or broken up materials into bins. A range of sizes suitable for 2m3 bins up to 30m3 are available.

This equipment has many advantages over the normal hydraulic type compactors giving much higher density, a breaking up and crushing ability together with the fact they are simply electrically driven with no hydraulics involved at all, thus reducing maintenance expenses.
